FAQ

How does the EZ Bow work?

Simply snap a disposable index tray on the EZ Bow, add the bite registration compound of your choice, level the patient's head and turn on the laser cross hair. Once you've centered the bow on the patient's facial midline, insert the bow and tray, raise into the maxillary arch and capture the bite. The index tray is then transferred to the articulator via the adjustable platform, which positions the incisal edge 100mm from the center of the hinge axis. See video here.

How does the EZ Bow compare with a traditional earbow/facebow?

Given that ALL facebows provide an average value, Marquette University Prosthodontic department conducted a study in 2015, comparing an earbow to a fox plane bow like the EZ Bow and Kois DFA. The results of the study concluded that there was no difference in the results provided by either type of bow. The detailed study can be seen at here.

What if I already have a Kois Dento Facial Analyzer?

The EZ Bow works similarly to the Kois DFA as far as methodology except the EZ Bow uses a laser instead of a midline rod. The Kois index trays from Panadent can be used interchangeably with AD2 index trays.

What type of battery is used for the laser cross hair?

The laser is powered by a CR-2477 “coin” battery, which is widely available on Amazon and many drug stores. It is thicker than most coin batteries and has been tested for 6 + hours of continuous runtime with the laser.
